Holding Procedures
147. A holding pattern is used by ATC to keep an aircraft over a specified location, until a further clearance is issued. A holding clearance will include at least:

a) clearance to holding fix;
b) direction to hold from the holding fix;
c) specified radial, course, or inbound track;
d) DME distance specifications (if applicable);
e) Altitude or flight level to maintain;
f) Time to expect further clearance (EFC) or approach clearance (EAC).
